The Easter Egg Archive

Easter eggs are hidden features deliberately placed into media, often as a joke. There’s a whole bunch of them at Eeggs.com. I have a couple of my own:

Look at #13 in the directions:

Flight simulator in Google Earth!

Laser-shooting spider in SimAnt!

Finally, here’s one from a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers video collection:

(More information about this is available here.)

Has the Large Hadron Collider destroyed the world yet?

What do you think?

Page source shows two interesting things. The first one is a bit of Javascript used to determine whether the world still exists:

<script type="text/javascript">
if (!(typeof worldHasEnded == "undefined")) {
document.write("YUP.");
} else {
document.write("NOPE.");
}
</script>

The second is a page comment:

<!-- if the lhc actually destroys the earth & this page isn't yet updated
please email mike@frantic.org to receive a full refund -->

Autocomplete Me

A humourous blog of funny Google autocomplete results. A lot of them are really pop-culture references but they’re so out of context it’s hilarious. (Some of them were so funny that I was worried about getting a hernia from laughing.)

Autocomplete Me

I love making invisible posts.

It baffles people on many forums, who can’t figure out how I got around the character limits.
My preferred method is to use the font codes. For example, I use the [b] tags, and put a few spaces in between:

[b]        [/b]

On some newer forums, that doesn’t work, so I use my trusty 1×1 transparent image.

I doubt this is much help, either.

An actual error I got from my scanner program.

Oops!
